Ever since I was a child growing up in Chicago, I have been observing nature and the ever changing world around me. While pursuing my art degree at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago, I began to translate my visions to canvas, always paying particular attention to the smallest details in my work. Now years later, I have taken decorative arts to an artistic level by using functional wood pieces as the canvas to express my love of color, detail and patterning.  Some of the patterns I use can be traced to ancient times when skilled artisans used them as a device for creating order and beauty.  My hand painted pieces represent that same dedication to time, effort and beauty but with a more contemporary vision.
